Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
The first Triple Crown winner in 25 years in 1973, Secretariat’s swan song would take place at the Canadian International Stakes at Woodbine on Oct 28 1973. In this lot we have an actual winning ticket from that victorious race that was never cashed, along with a second ticket for that race. There is also a 1973 program for the Kentucky Derby, also won by Big Red. The $2.00 win ticket is roughly 2” x 3”, and it remains in beautiful crease-free condition. The accompanying Kentucky Derby program is 4” x 9”, with a cover price of 25 cents. In excellent condition, there’s just a crease on the upper right corner to mention, with all pages intact and unmarked. Ranked second behind only Man o’ War by a group of experts assembled by the Associated Press, this lot will appeal to any collectors of Americana and racing.
