One of the most physical Canadiens during his era, Jean-Guy Talbot spent a dozen seasons with the Habs, helping the club earn their 5-Cup dynasty in the late-1950s. This stick has been game-used by Talbot, and signed by Montreal along with the Detroit Red Wings in 1958-59. A CCM Pattern-Made Professional model, “Talbot” along with “17” appears stamped on the upper shaft. 18 Canadiens and 20 Red Wings have added pen to wood, including deceased Hall of Famers Plante, Geoffrion, Harvey, Beliveau, Blake, Moore, Richard, Johnson, Sawchuk, Abel and Marcel Pronovost. Other HOFer’s who’ve signed are Richard, Howe, Delvecchio, Ullman and Red Kelly. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
The stick retains its original tape on the blade and knob, showing light but definite use with wear to the taped section of blade along with a few puck marks on the heel section and lower shaft. Others who have signed the stick include Backstrom, McDonald, Marshall, Goyette, Turner, Pronovost, Talbot, Cushenan, Langlois, Wilson, McIntyre, Lunde, Burns, Goegan, Godfrey, McCarthy, Kennedy, Holmes, and Gus Mortson.
