Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Advancing past the Boston Bruins during the 1978-79 Stanley Cup semifinals, Yvon Lambert secured the victory on May 10, 1979 with his overtime goal in the Habs 4-3 win, propelling the club to a meeting for the Cup with the Rangers. The puck used to score the historic goal was saved and preserved by the team on this striking presentation wood and blue anodized aluminum plaque that has been signed. Featuring a mounted enamel Canadiens CH crest above, the puck with Habs logo and handwritten particulars has been affixed midway down, with the engraved French-language text listing the details including “Yvon Lambert”, “But gagnant semi-finale Coupe Stanley 1979” and “Date 10 MAI 1979”. Lambert has signed the reverse in black marker, and we should note numerous scratches to the engraved plate, with very slight separations to the wood at the base and top. There is also a sticker with reference number added to the reverse. Originating from Yvon Lambert’s personal collection, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
