Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
A perennial NHL All-Star throughout his HOF career, Frank Mahovlich enjoyed his greatest success while helping to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs to a trio of consecutive Stanley Cup championships during the early-1960s – with this arguably the greatest era in the history of the blue and white. From the club’s first of three titles where they defeated the Chicago Black Hawks in six games, this Stanley Cup championship trophy was presented to the Big M for his status as a 1962 Stanley Cup champion. Standing a majestic 13” and mounted to a wooden base with green felt underside, the names of the men who made it happen are engraved in three rows beneath the team executives, with “Stanley Cup Winners”, “1961-62” and “Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Club” engraved above. The trophy exhibits surface wear and tarnishing throughout including a large area over the engraved text and reverse side of the text, with the base just slightly loose. Scratches are also in abundance, with no dents visible. Originating from Frank Mahovlich's personal collection, a Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
