Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
On the eve of celebrating a century of existence, the Selkirk Fishermen are one of the oldest junior teams in hockey, beginning operations in 1918. The team can include in its alumni legendary Hall of Famers Charlie Gardiner, Harry Oliver and Bullet Joe Simpson. This circa-1920s wool sweater features the classic fish emblem appliqued in white felt with red accent threading. With “Standard Knitwear” tagging in the collar and original felt “6” firmly affixed to the sweaters reverse, the crimson-red garment displays beautifully. There is some staining to the team crest, along with small holes on the right sleeve and near the middle left seam, with a larger example over the left breast. Comes with an LOA.
