Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

At one time unthinkable to the bleu blanc rouge faithful, Guy Lafleur donned the fleur de lys of dreaded provincial rival Quebec, seeing action in less than 100 games for the Nordiques over his final two NHL seasons, in 1989-90 and 1990-91. Despite being in his late-30s at the time, The Flower still managed an impressive 62 points over the 2 seasons. This Nordiques jersey was worn by the HOFer between 1989-91 while enjoying his swan song seasons in beautiful Quebec City. Maska Ultrafil tagging with handwritten “54” appears affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with an attractive tri-colour twill Nords team crest, the solid white V-neck has been accented with 8 heat-pressed fleur de lys vinyl emblems, with a single example gracing each shoulder along with six split evenly between the front and back lower bands. Guy’s “10” on the sleeves and verso also appears in blue heat-pressed vinyl, with “Lafleur” across the white nameplate in matching material. An LOA from Classic will accompany.
A number of stick marks are present on the lower front showing nice use, with additional marks over each sleeve. There is also moderate to considerable wear to the heat-pressed vinyl, with some loss to a few of the letters on the nameplate, chiefly the “F”, with additional loss to the emblems over each shoulder along with examples on both the lower front and back. Lastly, it should also be noted that the identifiers on the reverse all suffer from some light fading, with the original glossy finish to the vinyl lacking.
