Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Some interesting rookie card and star power from the late-1960s and early-‘70s is offered up here, with Ken Dryden’s coveted 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee rookie card leading in importance. Free of unsightly flaws, it is in VG+ condition, with light surface wear, a vertical bend (not really a crease) in the lower right corner region, a light half-inch back crease in the upper right corner (when viewing the reverse) and the slightest hint of a rubber band indentation in the middle of the left edge. We’ll go chronologically with the rest, with a Serge Savard RC at EX and a Bobby Hull card, also from ’69-70, at VG+. Representatives from ’70-71 are rookie cards of Bobby Clarke (VG+ appearance but with a moisture stain in the upper region) and Darryl Sittler (EX), while Hull (VG) and Clarke (EX+) from ’71-72 are joined by the special collector’s card featuring Gordie Howe (VG+). Completing are the ’74-75 rookie cards of coaches Scotty Bowman (EX) and Don Cherry (EX OC).
