Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
This fantastic 1994 Team Canada Winter Olympics jersey was done up for defenseman Brad Werenka’s use during the tournament in Lillehammer, Norway. Werenka played all eight games for Canada, including the heartbreaking 3-2 shootout loss to Sweden when they fell just short of gold for their second straight Olympic silver medal. All photos of Werenka during the Olympic tournament show him wearing the red jersey, and the absence of wear on this white mesh jersey and the fact that no photos of Team Canada players wearing white jerseys in Lillehamer suggests that Canada’s white set of jerseys was not worn. Nevertheless, this vintage game-issued 1994 Olympics jersey is a silver-lined beauty!
Wind Stopper tagging and a Tackla size XXL flag tag remain in the back of the collar and the sublimated Reebok logo sits on the right breast.
