This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
A sliver in the hide of the NHL, the discomfort of the WHA began with the high profile signing of Bobby Hull in 1972, and didn’t reside until the sliver was finally removed by the NHL through merging. This lot contains 9 different hockey pennants from that rebel league that challenged the NHL’s predominance. At the standard 30”, each pennant features thicker stock with screened on accents. Teams present include Minnesota, Birmingham, Edmonton, Indianapolis, Phoenix, New England, Cincinnati, Calgary and Houston. In solid very good to excellent condition throughout, most pennants have tack holes present with the odd crease or wrinkle, along with intact tips.
