Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Enshrined in the Hall of Fame and considered modern hockey’s first female superstar, Angela James played competitively for two decades, which included representing Canada at the first IIHF World Women's Championship in 1990. This Team Canada jersey was worn by James in the 1990s. Tackla tagging remains affixed to the collar, with an additional Tackla logo over the right breast. Featuring screened-on team name, numbers and nameplate, the jersey also has a rough-cut alternate’s “A” that sits over the left breast. With just a few dark marks present on the right sleeve for game-wear, James has added a nice black marker signature to the white section of the team crest, and it exhibits slight bleeding.
The jersey was originally donated by Angela James to a Seneca College Charity Auction and comes with the auction tag still attached. This is the rare "pink" Tackla mesh version and it's the exact style worn by the Canadian women's team that won gold in the 1992 world Championships and which Angela James played for.
