Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
The legendary Jack Adams received this NHL Championship tray to commemorate the Red Wings' regular season title in 1956-57. Fellow HOFers Howe, Lindsay and Ullman finished 1-2-3 in the Art Ross Trophy race and GM Adams saw Detroit claim its eighth Prince of Wales Trophy in nine years. “National Hockey League Champions 1956 - 1957 Detroit Hockey Club Inc. Jack Adams – General Manager” is engraved in the middle of the circular tray that measures 12” in diameter. Very nicely preserved, this championship tray from the last gasp of the great Red Wings dynasty of the 1950s displays various surface scratches that do not diminish its display. Comes with a letter of provenance.
“Heritage, Rogers Bros” is stamped on the reverse with “9421” at the bottom and two hallmarks in between.
