Turning in a record of 34-19-6 in 59 games played during the regular season, Ed Belfour would earn All-Star Team, Hart Trophy and Vezina Trophy votes for his effort in 2003-04 as the Toronto Maple Leafs made it to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Currently tied for 10th all-time in shutouts in NHL history, offered here is this stick used by Belfour during Toronto’s 5-0 win against the Florida Panthers on March 9th, 2004 with the scoreboard goose egg standing as the 72nd blanking of “Eddie the Eagle’s” storied career. A CCM Heaton 10 model in the Leafs white, blue and silver colourway, “Ed. Belfour” is stamped over the upper shaft and the stick retains its original tape job of white over the blade and yellow gauze over the handle and know. Having had “3-9-04 – 5-0 vs Panthers – 72nd SO” handwritten on the forehand side of the upper shaft in black marker, the stick, free from any cracks or breaks upon inspection, shows good game-use via numerous puck marks and abrasions as well as red post paint transfers. Signed over the forehand side of the blade tape by Belfour with a black marker ink signature that displays well, the stick hails from his personal collection and comes with his signed LOA.
