The 2005 season saw Jacques Villeneuve return to Formula 1 on a full time basis as he joined the Sauber Petronas team with teammate Felipe Massa to drive the C24 chassis. Jacques ended the season with 5 top 10 finishes and 14th overall in the Championship. This helmet, a Bell HP3 was painted in Jacques’ traditional design by Bell S.P.O.R.T.S. Europe and tagged 2005/11.The helmet was used during the 2005 Japanese Grand Prix, October 7-9 at the Suzuka Circuit, where Jacques qualified 8th and finished 12th, the last car on the lead lap. Bell S.P.O.R.T.S Europe has also added a small Japanese flag sticker to the back of the helmet to signify its use during that GP weekend and Jacques has signed the chin strap. The helmet shows nice wear with a number of small marks and chips on the front of the helmet which doesn’t have a visor. Jacques has added protective tape on the back and sides on the helmet to prevent rubbing inside the car. The HANS clips remain on the helmet but the full race radio was removed, most likely to be used in another helmet. Also included is the original Bell carrying bag with “J.V. 05-11” handwritten annotations. The helmet is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
