In his last season with the BAR Honda team Jacques managed 6 top 10 finishes with a best placing of 6th at the Italian and Brazilian GP’s. This relegated him to 16th overall in the 2003 World Championship. Jacques wore this Bell K1 helmet during the 2003 Austrian Grand Prix weekend where he qualified 12th and finished 12th. The helmet painted by Bell Racing Europe is tagged “2003-7” and has the Austria flag decal added to the back to signify where the helmet was worn. The helmet has all of Villeneuve’s customizations; vents are closed off (some tape has now peeled-off), extra eye-port foam has been added and the Hans Clips are present on the helmet but the race radio isn’t. You can notice on the helmet that the Lucky Strike sticker placement was different before with the outline of the former sticker visible much lower than the position of the current one. The helmet shows very nice wear inside and out with a number of small chips in the paint and four tear-offs still remain attached on the race-used visor with the top tear-off signed by Villeneuve. Also included is the original Bell carrying bag with “J.V. 2003-07” handwritten annotations. This item is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
