This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
One of the most popular hockey teams outside of North America with an average attendance of over 16,000 per game, SC Bern was established in 1931 and play in the National League, the top tier of the Swiss hockey league system. The winner of 16 NL Championships, a number of past NHL stars have worn Bern’s jersey including Martin Gélinas, Roman Josi and Daniel Brière. This SC Bern “Novizen” jersey hails from the circa early-1980s. With the collar label removed and no other tagging present, the vintage sweater measures-out to roughly a size 46. Styled with a twill team crest with embroidered detailing, “11” appears over the verso in red-over-gold drop-shadow tackle twill, with “Novizen” screened over the upper reverse.
The garment shows nice game use, with a stick mark over the upper reverse along with numerous team repairs, with examples over the front (2), reverse (5), shoulders (1), left sleeve (7) and right sleeve (5).
