Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Based in Lexington and playing home games at Rupp Arena, the Kentucky Thoroughblades existed in the AHL from 1996-2001, serving as affiliate for both the San Jose Sharks and New York Islanders. We have a Thoroughblades jersey worn by an unknown player in 1998-99, recycled and prepared for use for netminder Mark Bernard, most likely for training camp/preseason use during the 1999-00 season. A Bauer label and “60G” size tag remain affixed to the collar, with Bauer and AHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Featuring a slightly embossed and textured team crest with “Kentucky” and “Thoroughblades” embroidered, the air-knit V-neck has been accented with white tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers with purple trim, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. A few marks are present along with faint burns, with moderate pilling along with fabric pulls over the lower front. This wear occurred from prior use before the sweater was recycled for Bernard. A team LOA will accompany.
