Goalie Jeff Reese tended the nets of a number of NHL clubs throughout his lengthy career including Toronto, Calgary, Hartford, Tampa Bay and New Jersey. This Devils jersey was worn by the Brantford native in 1996-97, when he appeared in 3 games for the club. CCM labeling with handwritten “35” and size “54” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM (with 2 handwritten dots on the reverse) and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the familiar Devils team crest executed completely in tackle twill, the solid red V-neck has been accented with oversized sleeve and verso numbers in matching material. The team patch has been rubberized to the inside bottom hem, and it denotes the garment as a “1995-96 Playoff Set” example. We should note evidence of a former nameplate along with custom sleeves utilized, with the jersey most likely donned first by Corey Schwab who wore #35 the previous season, recycled for Reese's use for the 1996-97 season. Game-wear is light, with just a few small random marks. A COR from MeiGray will accompany along with other documents.
