Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

Goalie Chad Erickson’s 1991-93 New Jersey Devils game-worn pre-season jersey sports some solid game wear that includes a dozen team repairs on the sleeves. This older Devils jersey was recycled for use in the pre-season by Erickson, whose NHL career was limited to two regular season games in 1991-92 for New Jersey, which selected him 138th overall out of the University of Minnesota-Duluth in the seventh round of the 1988 draft. The Devils LOA signed by Lou Lamoriello that accompanies this jersey states that it was worn by Erickson during the 1991-93 NHL exhibition seasons. CCM flag tag sits in the back of the neck. The Custom Crafted logo is screened on the left rear tail and the embroidered CCM patch with the registered mark is sewn on the right rear tail. The numbers on the back and both sleeves and the Devils crest on the front are all heat-screened vinyl that has held up nicely. There is evidence of a longer former nameplate. Erickson’s surname letters feature red twill on heat-pressed green vinyl on the nameplate. There are six team repairs on the left sleeve, including two to the left of the “5” and four grouped low on the back of the sleeve. There are six team repairs grouped together low on the right sleeve. More game wear shows in black marks on the front and both sleeves, and some red paint transfer on the back of the left sleeve.
