Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
With a career-shortening injury sadly taking him out of the game in 2000, Trent McCleary first saw action with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL, with NHL appearances made with Ottawa, Boston and Montreal. We have a Montreal Canadiens jersey from the 1997-98 season, recycled for McCleary’s use in either pre or regular season games in 1998-99, his first of two seasons with the Habs. With no clear evidence visible of a former nameplate, a Center-Ice label from Starter graces the collar, with a “56-R” size swatch over the inside hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “6” appears over the sleeves and verso in white over blue layered tackle twill, with “McCleary” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. Marks are visible over the lower front including both over and beneath the team crest, with heavy burns and additional marks over each sleeve. There is also a large scuff mark over the reverse along with a small hole near the nameplate, with team repairs over both the left (3) and right (1) sleeves.
