Veteran defenseman Murray Baron’s 1996-97 Canadiens game-worn jersey has stitching that has partially ripped and let go on the front and back seams of the collar. Baron was acquired from St. Louis along with Shayne Corson and a fifth round draft pick in the Oct. 29, 1996 trade that sent Pierre Turgeon, Craig Conroy and Rory Fitzpatrick to the Blues. The veteran defenseman had 107 penalty minutes in 60 games with Montreal before he was traded with Chris Murray to Phoenix for defenseman Dave Manson on March 18, 1997. Maska and size flag tags are partially faded by laundering and the size is obscured by nameplate stitching. We measure a size 58. CCM and NHL shield logos are embroidered on the right rear hem. Game wear includes a number of faint black marks on the upper left breast, more marks on the front left tail and sleeves, board burns and a bit of red and blue paint transfer on the sleeves, a small slice in the airknit white fabric on the left sleeve, and pilling inside the rear tail from the fight strap. Comes with a Canadiens LOA signed by Rejean Houle.
