Marking the last time any major professional North American sports team captured four-consecutive championships, the 1982-83 NHL season witnessed the Edmonton Oilers set an NHL record for goals with 424, with the New York Islanders winning their fourth-consecutive championship after sweeping Wayne Gretzky and company in the final. This lot offers a collection of 35mm colour slides from the 1982-83 NHL season totaling 154, accompanied by 19 Soviet slides dated from 1975. Numbered “01” to “156”, these are individual player portrait images, with no production marks present on any slides, with a number of the day’s stars featured including Gretzky, Dionne, Lafleur, Bossy, Bourque, Perreault, McDonald, D. Savard, Gartner, Hawerchuk, Vaive, Clarke, P. Stastny and many others. There are also slides showing each NHL club logo. The Russian slides total 19, with Cyrillic text on each. They include the national team (1973), Vladislav Tretiak, Vitaly Davidov, Anatoli Firsov, Viktor Kuzkin, Konstantin Loktev, Boris Mikhailov, Vladimir Petrov and others.
