Setting a record that will stand the ages, with nineteen consecutive playoff series wins from 1980 to 1984, the New York Islanders secured what is recognized by the NHL as the league’s seventh dynasty, with their four consecutive Stanley Cup championships only matched by Montreal. This lot contains a great grouping of Islanders team-issued press photos totaling approx 133, and ranging from the inaugural season in 1972-73, to 1985-86. All glossy black and white prints in the 8” x 10” range, included, we have 2 photos from 1972-73 (Lavender and Murray), 25 photos from 1973-74 including Potvin (rookie) and Smith, 1 photo from 1974-75 (Gillies rookie), 24 photos from 1977-79 including Bossy, Trottier, Tonelli and Nystrom, 26 photos from 1980-81 including Gillies, Trottier, Smith and Bossy, 8 photos from 1982-83, 22 photos from 1984-85, and 25 photos from 1985-86. There is also an Islanders team photo from 1973-74 and an oversized team-issued paper stock photo of Bryan Trottier. The majority of the photos display well with light handling wear as well as the odd corner ding, crease or blemish.
