No stranger to issuing intriguing promotions that kept sales continuously brisk, soft drink giants Coca-Cola ran a number of interested offers throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and we offer the fruit of one young collectors labour. This lot contains a complete 108-cap set from the 1964-65 promotion, set within the available rink that has been customized with wooden boards and a glass cover (15” x 24”). This is accompanied by a complete set of 108 Coke cards from the 1965-66 promotion, set within the original album, followed by a group of 9 1977-78 Coke mini cards along with the album, an original 1964-65 caps advertisement (6” x 8”), 33 caps from the 1965-66 promotion, 4 caps from 1966-67 (one of each featured player) and more! The 1964-65 Coke caps complete set includes a trio of Sprite caps (Johnson, Larose and Howell), with the condition fairly uniform throughout, with a number of caps sporting surface blemishes including MacGregor, with the caps of Hodge, Backstrom, Richard and Mohns somewhat dark. The original plastic rink has been covered with glass, with the base made of wood, with a cardboard backing and vinyl stickers added to simulate lines (one is missing). Next, the 1965-66 Coke cards all display well, with some corner wear expected throughout as the cards were added to the album by inserting the corners. The Hull, Howe and Sawchuk cards all appear to display well with no issues. The album itself exhibits just light to moderate wear. The remaining caps from 1965-66 all show moderate to heavier wear, with most having intact liners. The 1966-67 caps (Richard, Bower, Keon and Laperriere) all show moderate wear, with just toning and fold lines the main issues for the 1964-65 advertisement. Rounding out the lot, the 1977-78 mini cards include Sittler/Martin, Robinson/Davidson/Rutherford, and Saleski/Shutt/Henning/Glennie, with light wear to each and the accompanying album. Lastly, there are also 19 Calgary Flames caps from the 1980-81 Pepsi caps promotion.
