The first European country to win twice at the World Championships, Czechoslovakia remained fiercely competitive despite the emergence of the Soviet Union, with four silver medals won at the Olympic Games between 1948 and 1984. Winning a total of six (6) IIHF World Championship gold medals over the course of their history, including back-to-back first place finishes in 1976 and 1977, offered here is this vintage early-1970s Team Czechoslovakia "CSSR" jersey attributed to have been worn at the 1970 IIHF World Championships by Julius Haas based on research and evidence that we found. Void of any labeling affixed to the interior, typical of Czechoslovakian jerseys from this era, the garment, a thin long sleeve t-shirt style example, measures out to roughly a size "50" for its effort. Sporting a blue-white-red knitted collar that still sports its original lace through the eyelets, the front of the jersey is decorated with "CSSR" in tri-layer white-over-red-over-white canvas twill and felt letters. Styled over the sleeves and verso with the number "9" (worn by Haas during the tournament) in matching style numerals, the jersey shows good wear via some board burns, small unrepaired holes, pilling and coloured board paint transfers over both sleeves while additional battle scars are observed through a board burn/transfer over the upper reverse, general wear/spot/sweat staining from use and age, pilling throughout the body, holes in backside of the knitted collar and pilling on the interior
