Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

Nice duo of NHL player-of-the-week awards presented to Vancouver Canucks goalie Kirk McLean, beginning with a Chrysler Canada NHL performer-of-the-week plaque awarded to McLean for the week ending March 19, 1989. The facsimile signatures of Chrysler chairman Lee Iacocca and NHL president John Ziegler appear on the gold-coloured plaque mounted on an 11" x 15" wood plaque. The Pro Set NHL player-of-the-week award from the first week of the 1991-92 season was also presented to Kirk, who went 8-0-1 to open the season before tasting defeat. “Kirk McLean, Goalie, Vancouver Canucks, Week 1” is etched on the side of the glass puck that sits in the blue velour interior of the octagonal wood case with “NHL Pro Set Player of the Week 1991-1992” etched on the lid which measures 5 1/2" across. Both awards have a few scuffs on the wood that do not diminish their display. Comes with Kirk McLean’s signed LOA.
