Fascinating three-volume '76 Montreal Summer Games hard-cover set nestled in a tasteful slipcase, detailing all things Montreal Olympics, including expenditures, construction, and most importantly of course, exploits of the athletes involved. The three books, copyrighted 1978, are written in French, with volume one describing the years of planning, the members of the organizing committee, the staggering costs involved, and the calendar of events leading to the massive venture. Volume two outlines the unreal construction involved in putting the Montreal games together, and the various venues used in the area. Volume three deals with the athletes from all categories, listing their countries, achievements, records, and placings. The three books are in wonderful condition with no rips or creases, with each lightly penciled on the inside cover with the lettering BS BI 1, 2, and 3. The slipcase has a slight and almost unnoticeable two-inch seam that has come apart at the top edge, along with the same faded lettering and numbers BS BI 3X written near the bilingual "Games of the XXII Olympiad Montreal 1976" Official Report. It's a heavy-duty and extraordinary set showing the complete and in-depth record of the fabled Montreal games, and would be a wonderful addition to anyone's Olympic or sports collection.
