Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

Very cool are these 3 ducats from the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, complete tickets that includes opening and closing ceremonies tickets from August 25th and September 11th, with both measuring almost 4” x 11”, plus a boxing ticket at 3 3/4” x 9 3/4”. Rome was the scene of a young Cassius Clay (later to be known as Muhammad Ali), returning to the U.S. with a gold medal around his neck. The boxing ticket offered here, from August 31, 1960, wasn't a Clay fight day but remains important for its close association. A boxing image is on this ticket, while the opening and closing ceremony tickets display ancient Rome statues and architecture. All three of these large and beautiful full-size tickets remain in excellent condition with just faint touches of age darkness on the edges. Definitely significant and historical Rome Olympics memorabilia for the offering here.
