Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
From the 2008 HOF Legends Classic game at Toronto's Air Canada Centre, a charity game which pitted former Habs greats such as Larry Robinson, Yvan Cournoyer, and Steve Shutt against other former NHLers that included Mark Messier, Lanny McDonald, and Darryl Sittler, is Sittler's game-worn jersey from the occasion. This lace-neck gamer, tagged in the collar as "XL", features the large HOF crest sewn on the front, "Sittler" is screened onto the nameplate, and includes his triple tackle twill number "27" on the back, and with the sleeves, shoulder, collar, and hem having all stripes sewn on. Capping everything off is Sittler's signature in clear black marker on both the team crest and back (between the numbers), and the great forward has added "HHOF 1989" to his signature and number. Game wear has been held to a minimum, and the jersey comes with a COA from the "Shoot for a Cure" auction, signed by the President and Director of the Canada/US Spinal Research organization.
