Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Great jersey worn by L.A. Kings winger Kyle Calder in the historic opening games of the 2007-08 NHL regular season that instead of taking place in normal NHL rinks, were held at London, England’s O2 arena. The 2-game series, featuring the Kings and freeway rivals Anaheim Ducks, marked the first time regular season NHL games were played in Europe. This black Kings gamer, tagged in the collar as a size “56” (with a handwritten “2”), includes a “Los Angeles Kings 2007-08 Game Jersey” patch, also in the collar, with registration numbers matching the accompanying team LOA. A team store tag is attached in the collar as well. Game wear is light but shows a substantial board burn on the left elbow. The games, held on September 29th and 30th, saw the Southern California squads split the series, with each winning by 4-1 scores, and with the Kings wearing their black uniforms in both games.
