Hall of Famer Roy Conacher’s photo-matched 1941-42 Boston Bruns game-worn wool sweater displays vintage team repairs. Conacher scored the Stanley Cup-winning goal for Boston in 1939 after leading the NHL in goals during his rookie season. He and the Bruins had a second Cup in three years to their credit when Conacher wore this beauty during the 1941-42 season. Distinctive patterns in the 9 sewn on the front and the B on the left sleeve are positively matched to Conacher wearing this sweater in the 1941-42 Bruins team photo. The extra black fabric on the right side of the inner portion of the upper part of the 9 on the front clearly shows in the photo. The B on the left sleeve has the very distinctive shape in the photo that includes a wider portion of yellow at the bottom of the left side of the B, the downward slope on the upper left portion of the bottom left of the B, and the curve along the bottom edge of the B, all of which are plain to see. Horace Partridge Co. Boston size 42 tagging remains sewn inside the left rear hem. We count three team repairs on the front, one on the lower left sleeve and another at the left shoulder sleeve seam. There are two on the right sleeve, including an intricate sewing fix. Various reddish brown spot stains on the front and both sleeves at the cuffs and a number of holes throughout the jersey do not diminish its historic display.
