Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
A fine example of the highly sought-after Jacques Plante Fibrosport pretzel mask from the 1960s, preserved in excellent condition with a small chip at the top, 2 small holes drilled on the sides, and a few minor hairline cracks to note. It's also been customized in several ways including the removal of the middle bars, added layers of foam protection on the chin and forehead (which can be easily removed if desired), and the addition of vintage Cooper straps which are intact and functional. This caramel colored bar mask, manufactured by Plante's Fibrosport company in Magog, Quebec, was the company's first model made, and one collectors constantly keep a keen eye out for.
