Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Roberto Luongo’s 2008-09 Vancouver Canucks game-worn alternate jersey is photo-matched to a pair of marks on the team crest sewn on the front. The two black marks on the left side of the Canucks’ original hockey stick in rink logo crest show in action shots of Luongo wearing this jersey during the 2008-09 campaign, one year before he led Canada to Olympic gold on home ice in Vancouver. Goalie style and size 58+ flag tags sit in the back of the neck and Luongo’s number 1 is written in blue marker on the fight strap. The MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2008-09 Season registry patch is sewn inside the rear tail and the MeiGray pop report indicates that the jersey is from the Canucks’ second set of third jerseys.
