Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Goaltending legend Patrick Roy had his third Stanley Cup to his credit when he took to the ice with this game-worn jersey for his second campaign, and first full season, with the Colorado Avalanche in 1996-97. As with all second-year Avalanche gamers, the size tag is sewn inside the rear hem with numbers for the general shirt size (58G), sleeve size, and cuff width. Also characteristic of the second-year jerseys, the hem embroidery contains both the Starter logo and company name together. Starter and NHL Center Ice tagging sit in the back of the neck with “1” in faded black marker for set #1. Team repair with a fabric patch inside the jersey sits on the right front and more game wear shows in black marks on the front and sleeves. There is puckering to the Avs team crest on the front and some puckering/shrinkage noticeable on the back numbers. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
