Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Montreal Canadiens legendary goaltender Bill Durnan joins three Detroit Red Wings players in this all-Hall of Fame ensemble, the four cards the only hockey examples in Berk Ross’ multi-sport “Hit Parade of Champions” card set of 1951, which originally came in two-card panels. The card of "Black Jack" Stewart is housed in an early PSA holder with light surface scratches and received NM 7 recognition, while the raw cards all have less-than-perfect centering. Sid Abel is otherwise NM, with Bill Quackenbush also crease-free and EX+. The Durnan, without part of an upper border and technically mis-cut, is also free of creases and otherwise EX-MT. Prerequisites of an important vintage hockey card collection, these will instantly and nicely take care of a void for you.
