Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Featuring one of the most coveted and in demand hockey rookie cards of the modern era, that of Parry Sound and Boston phenom Bobby Orr, this complete set of 1966-67 Topps cards is sure to garner interest. Famous card #35 pictures the brush-cut young man who would go on to lead the Bruins to Stanley Cup glory and is a well-centered example with no creases. Minor wear on the two upper corners and a lightly dinged lower right corner are to be aware, along with a tiny pinhole-size indentation beneath Bobby’s lower lip. Grading EX in our book, the treasure is joined by some four dozen other cards which make it to EX, with some of them EX+. Among them are Hull, Sawchuk, Hall, Mikita, Beliveau, Mahovlich and Mikita AS. Most of the rest are VG, VG+ and VG-EX, with 109-Howe at VG and four notables which do not attain the aforementioned grades; 63-Esposito (a red “X” in the upper right corner), 121-Howe AS (G) and two marked/warped/creased (P) checklists.
