Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Elusive and coveted are the 21 cards issued by the Hamilton Chewing Gum company in 1933-34, a season that saw Maple Leafs’ star right winger Charlie Conacher lead the NHL in goals for the third of five times and win his first of two straight scoring championships! Charlie’s rookie card leads this all-Toronto lot, with card #49 slabbed EX 5 by PSA. It’s a Pop-11 with just 11 of 59 total PSA-graded Conacher RCs grading higher. The cards of fellow Hall-of-Famers Ace Bailey (RC) and Hap Day also earned EX 5 recognition at PSA, as did the rookie of Harold Cotton. Completing the colorful and appealing ensemble is a VG-EX 4 RC of Bill Thoms. Go Leafs!
