Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Three of the greatest ever have signed some cool items here, beginning with an 11” x 14’ b&w close-up shot of Gordie Howe and Jean Beliveau chatting at a time when All-Star teams played the previous spring's Stanley Cup winner, both signing in beautiful silver marker, with Beliveau adding “Le Gros Bill” and Howe penning “Mr. Hockey”. Another 11” x 14” b&w features Howe, Beliveau and Bobby Hull in their All-Star uniforms, signed with nice and clear blue marker by all three, with Howe adding “Mr. Hockey”, Beliveau “Le Gros Bill, and Hull “The Golden Jet”. An 18” x 22” limited-edition 157/909 print features the image of Bobby Hull in flight, titled “Bobby Hull The Golden Jet HOF 1983”, and his wonderfully signed name in blue marker also mirrors the title. The print, with pastel colors in the background, is a photo made to look like an illustration and is truly gorgeous. Also included in this lot is a 3 ½” x 5 ½” HOF card of Bobby Hull, signed in bold blue marker by Hull, plus a 1960 Sports Illustrated with Hull on the cover, signed in black marker, and a 1963 French language Sport Revue, also with Hull on the cover and also signed with black marker. Condition-wise sees the photos and print in pristine condition, the 100-page Sports Illustrated is complete and intact with no markings, and has a small tear on the bottom edge, some slight edge creasing, and has remnants of the mailing address, while the 26-page Sport Revue is also complete, intact, and mark-free, showing very faint surface handling, along with having the mailing address on the back cover.
