Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Fantastic find is this 1934 “Down the Ice” book by the legendary Foster Hewitt featuring a vintage autograph from its Hall of Fame author. Hewitt, who died in 1985, placed a bold (although slightly blotted) fountain pen signature in the middle of the inside blank fly page. This fabulous early account of the game of hockey is complete and intact, although the dust jacket is missing, the edges are worn a tad, the spine has loosened somewhat, and a couple of pages show some small markings. A rare book signed by the iconic Hewitt, who was inducted into the builders' category of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1965. Comes with an LOA from JSA.
