Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Terrific 32-page Boston Garden 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" program with Bruins head honcho Art Ross on the cover, from game 1 of the 1939 Stanley Cup finals between Boston and Toronto, held on April 6th of that spring. The Bruins would win the game 2-1 that night, and would hoist the Cup not long after by winning in five games in the best-of-seven series. The cover shows some edge wear, and a small piece of tape is on the front, while inside, only the lineup page has come loose from its staples. All in all, a cool read from a time when the Bruins ruled the roost, winning just their second title (the first being in 1929) and led by the likes of Brimsek, Shore, Dumart and Bauer, while the Leafs featured Broda, Horner, Apps, and Jackson.
