Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
HOFer Newsy Lalonde (ind.1950), was more than one of the greatest hockey players of his time, a skilled and rambunctious forward with the Habs, Renfrew, Vancouver and others. Newsy also starred for the Montreal Nationals lacrosse team beginning in 1905 as a goaltender who moved to the attack position in 1910. We have a fine 3” x 5” sepia-toned photo with fine clarity of Newsy circa 1910 when he was a member of the Nationals, with the front side remaining in excellent condition with slight corner creasing, while the back, once affixed to a scrapbook, has paper residue/damage, along with various writings in pen and pencil. Also on the back is a stamp from the photographer “Albert Dumas, 149 Ste-Catherine Est (Montreal”.
