Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Rugged d-man Marty McSorley, one of Wayne Gretzky’s most relied-upon teammates, has signed the blade of his Koho gamer with clear black marker, with the blade retaining its original black tape and the knob with original white tape. “McSorley” is stamped on the upper part of the shaft, a shaft which shows a “Pro Am” hologram sticker and an extraordinary amount of black marks, and although the stick isn’t dated, we know Marty used Kohos when he was with the Oilers in the latter part of the 1980s and in his first few years in Los Angeles, putting this gamer at circa 1987-1990. Nice stick from a fellow who certainly didn’t just go through the motions, and who ended with a tremendously respectable 961 big-league games under his belt.
