Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
A two-time Stanley Cup champion with Chicago in the 1930s, Johnny Gottselig was the Black Hawks' director of public relations when they next won the Cup in 1961. Johnny's name was not engraved on the Cup that year, but he has the distinction of being the first Russian-born captain to have his name engraved on the Cup in 1938. Offered here are Gottselig's appointment books for 1959 and 1961. Johnny's name is printed in gold letters on the cover of each of these 8 x 6 books with mostly blank calendar pages. The 1959 agenda has a just few handwritten entries while there are none in the blank 1961 book.
