Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
As part of the NHL's 75th anniversary celebration in 1991-92, the Original Six teams all wore a Turn-Back-the-Clock jersey from their past throughout the season. Maple Leafs defenseman Darryl Shannon wore this rare and highly collectible example. Maska Ultrafil and size 54 flag tag sit in the back of the neck and the NHL's 75th Anniversary patch is sewn on the right breast of this magnificent Leafs gamer. "Shannon" is sewn on a nameplate and his #28 is stitched on the back as well as on both sleeves, all in white twill. The jersey shows obvious game wear, which includes board burns to both sleeves, with burn holes and red paint transfer on the left sleeve, the latter also on the front tail. Curiously, the elbow gussets are reversed on this jersey and are sewn on the front of each sleeve rather than the back. There are light colored stains on the left back below the “2”.
