Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
This vintage mid- to late-1930s Maple Leafs Love & Bennett game-used stick is attributed to deceased HOFer Red Horner. The number 2 Horner wore for the Leafs until 1939-40, his last in Toronto, is handwritten on all four sides of the upper shaft. The vintage tape job remains on the knob with a small piece of black tape added, most likely to hold the knob’s tape job intact. Vintage tape job also remains on the blade of this beauty with “Patented 1934” and “Love & Bennett Ltd. Maple Leaf Gardens” stamps on the lower shaft. Nicely preserved stick that dates back nearly 80 years and is attributed to a Leafs legend.
