Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

Hall of Fame goalie Ken Dryden packed an incredible track record of success into his relatively brief career with the Montreal Canadiens of the 1970s. The six-time Stanley Cup champion’s 1975 team-signed Sher-Wood game used stick has “29” and “Dryden K.” stamped on shaft, which retains his well-worn white tape knob. The white tape job on the blade is split open along the bottom edge and hangs completely loose on the blade. Dryden and fellow HOFers Savard, Cournoyer, Shutt and Gainey are among the signatures along with the likes of Pete Mahovlich, Bouchard and Lambert. We count 21 signatures with six autographs on one side of the handle and 15 on the other, mostly legible with some faint examples. Game wear includes red goalpost paint transfer on the shaft. The stick has a sticker with "1978-79 Stanley Cup winning team" but one of the autographs is from Don Awrey, who was only with the Habs in 1974-75 and 1975-76.
