Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
It was the Campbell Conference vs. the Wales Conference on February 7, 1989 at Edmonton's Northlands Coliseum, with the Campbells boasting the likes of Gretzky, Kurri, Fuhr, and a guy from St. Louis named Brett Hull, while the Wales enjoyed the company of Coffey, Neely, Lemieux, Bourque et al. From the collection of Brett Hull is his game-worn Campbell Conference jersey from that '89 affair, tagged in the collar as a “Maska Air-Knit” with a handwritten size “52” on it. On the right sleeve is a screened and sewn on “40th All-Star Game” patch, the tail has an embroidered “CCM” patch, and inside is the small remainder of the cut fight strap. Game wear is on the lighter side with a scattering of marks on both sleeves. Hull's Campbell team would best the Wales 9-5, with Brett recording one assist, along with Gary Leeman, on a Jimmy Carson goal. Beautiful gamer from a fellow who would play in eight All-Star games during his illustrious career.
