Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Not only do we have a circa-late 1940s Munro table with all wooden milk bottle-shaped pins (players) and both knitted nets complete on the wooden surface and with the surrounding plastic intact, but we also have its original box! This primitive table hockey game, measuring 37" x 14 1/2", is a forerunner to the mechanical “tin men in NHL uniforms” versions and remains in terrific shape with just a few marks on the edges and the original ball no longer included. The box is intact and shows a bit of a rugged look with dings and wear with some handwriting on it, but all in all remains strong and together. It also has, along with the “Munro Games Toronto” printing, a “T. Eaton Co. Calgary” stamp. Munro table hockey games were first introduced in 1932, with the type of game offered here in production, with various designs, until 1955.
