Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
The legendary Jackie Robinson poses nicely for a "Parade Sportive" picture, a company that issued 5" x 8" semi-glossy pictures of NHL stars and baseball's Montreal Royals from 1943 to 1947. We have two examples of Robinson in his batting pose, both in great condition, plus three Royals team pictures from "Parade Sportive" that include slightly yellowed examples from the 1944 and 1945 teams (1945 also has a small corner tear), and a beautiful one from 1946 that shows Robinson in the back row, far left. The 1946 squad won the Governor's Cup as best in the International League, and would defeat the Louisville Colonels 4 games to 2 in the Junior World Series.
