Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
The Philadelphia Flyers became one of six news teams in the 1967 NHL expansion, and from that we have all sorts of goodies related to it via a staff member of those '67-68 Flyers, including an original typed 1967 exhibition game schedule & travel documents (4 pages); two 1967-68 vintage team photos (one with some border issues that doesn't affect the photo); a complete 1967-68 inaugural season 80-page media guide (5"x8"); a 1967-68 team-signed sheet signed in the early-1990s by 21 members of that original team; an original Flyers dressing room drawing/sketch done, described and handwritten by the staff member; two programs from that first season - October 28th (6th game) and November 16th (14th game), plus more. The players who signed the sheet include Bernie Parent, Joe Watson, Brit Selby, Doug Favell, Lou Angotti, Bill Sutherland, Keith Allen, John Hanna, Larry Zeidel, Ed Van Impe, Leon Rocheford, Forbes Kennedy, Gary Dornhoefer, Claude LaForge, Wayne Hicks, Gary Peters, John Miszuk, Frank Lewis, Don Blackburn, and Jean Gauthier. Also in this lot are a 60-page scrapbook full of clippings from that inaugural first season; an Oct. 19, 1967 “Starting Lineup” magazine (with some damaged edges); an 8’10 glossy showing the Flyers and Blues brawling; 8x10 and 5 x 6 ½” team anniversary pictures; a photocopy of a 25th anniversary newspaper story; and a 25th anniversary VHS tape.
