Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

One of the greatest young stars in the game today, the Islanders’ John Tavares, wielded this game-used CCM stick during the 2010-11 season, just his second campaign in the big leagues, and one that saw the sniper rack up 67 points in 79 games. Featuring original black tape on the blade and blue on the handle (with one strip of white tape below the blue), this gamer has a small amount of marks lining the heel and shaft, has “ 91 J. Tavares” printed on the upper shaft, and the numbers “1030A 95 2291” on the shaft close to the heel. A great gamer from a fellow only five years into what should be a long and brilliant career, and who has managed to keep almost a point-a-game pace since he entered the big stage. Tavares was also a member of the gold medal-winning Canadian squad at the Sochi Olympics, although a serious knee injury kept him out of the final two games.
